Indic Warriors ("we," "our," or "the platform") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform (indicwarriors.com) connecting members, students, and verified mentors of the Indic knowledge traditions, centered in Varanasi.

By using Indic Warriors, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

All financial operations, transaction records, and money-related matters on the platform are handled and managed under the direct authority of our Accounts Incharge, Premchandra Dubey, who acts as the designated respondent and responsible officer for all compliance and transaction queries. The contribution of the Founder (Dr Bhanumati Mishra) and Patron (Mohan Rao Balaga) is purely selfless and community-driven. They bear no personal legal liability or operational responsibility for financial matters, transactions, or disagreements.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you register or use the platform, you may provide:

• Account registration: name, email address, and phone number — both email and phone are verified by one-time passwords (email OTP and WhatsApp OTP) before onboarding completes
• If you sign in with Google: the name, email address, and profile photo shared by your Google account
• Member profile: gender (optional), city and state, occupation, and — for students and faculty — your institution (state, district, university, college/department), degree or course, year of study, and enrollment number
• "Not listed" write-ins: if your institution or course is not in our lists, the name you type is stored as a request so we can add it
• For mentors: qualification and credential details (degrees, traditional training, or lineage — not medical licenses), years of experience, center name and address, session details
• Membership and donation payments: processed by Razorpay; we store the order, payment status, amount, and receipt number — we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials
• Communications with us via email, WhatsApp, or contact forms

2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

• No health or medical records of any kind — Indic Warriors is a learning and community platform, and its mentors are teachers of the Indic traditions, not medical practitioners
• No card numbers, UPI PINs, or banking credentials (payments happen inside Razorpay's secure checkout)
• No government identity documents

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit or use the platform, we may automatically collect:

• Device and browser information (type, operating system, browser version)
• IP address and approximate location data
• Usage data: pages visited, time spent on sections, features used
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve platform services
• Verify your contact details (email OTP and WhatsApp OTP) and secure your account
• Organise the community by occupation and institution, and connect students with mentors, study circles, and resources relevant to their path
• Process membership and donation payments, issue receipts, and send the related confirmation messages
• Grow our institution directory from "not listed" requests
• Send onboarding, receipt, and update messages by email or WhatsApp; newsletters only with your consent
• Respond to inquiries and support requests
• Ensure platform security and prevent fraud or misuse
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

• Within the community: Other users within your college or batch community may see profile information you have provided. This is part of how the platform functions. You control what information you include in your profile.
• Service providers: Providers who process data on our behalf: Razorpay (payment processing), MSG91 (WhatsApp OTP and messages), Resend (email delivery), Google (sign-in), and our hosting provider. Each receives only what its function requires.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the platform.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)
• Secure data storage practices
• Access controls and user authentication
• Regular security reviews

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. You use the platform at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations that may require us to retain it)
• Opt out of marketing or newsletter communications at any time
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Indic Warriors may contain links to external websites including our Substack newsletter, social media channels (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Threads), WhatsApp, and institutional department websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

The platform is intended for students and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows and evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform or newsletter where appropriate.
