Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya (V.K.M.), Kamachha is a women's college on the historic Theosophical Society campus associated with Annie Besant's educational legacy in Kashi. Entered to the privileges of Banaras Hindu University, it runs 15+ departments, 25+ courses, 2000+ students and 40+ faculty — spanning the humanities, social sciences, commerce and the arts, including Sanskrit, A.I.H.C. & Archaeology, Painting, and both vocal and instrumental Indian classical music.

Inaugurated on 10 July 1954 by Dr. C. P. Ramaswamy Iyer, then Vice-Chancellor of BHU, and founded by the Theosophist educator Dr. Rohit Mehta, VKM celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2004–05. Campus life keeps living Indic traditions close: a Certificate Course in Indian Knowledge System, the Kajari Mahotsav with the music organisation Saptak, Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta recitation competitions and Prem Chand Jayanti observances. Departments include A.I.H.C. & Archaeology, Commerce, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Music (Instrumental and Vocal), Painting, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit and Sociology.
